Technical Questions
Q: What is a software buyer?
A: A software buyer is an individual or organization who is trying to find a software developer (or software development company) to work on their software project.
Ex: A person who needs a website created for their new restaurant business.
Q: What service does My Software Project provide software buyers?
A: My Software Project is designed for the sole purpose of helping you find the right software developer for your software project. Choosing the right software
developer for your software project is absolutely vital to the success of your project, which is why My Software Project provides you with a way of "reaching out" to the best
software developers in the world.
Q: How does the service work for software buyers?
A: The process of finding a software developer for your project starts with you. Software buyers initiate the process of finding a software developer by creating what is
called a "software project posting". This software project posting is a basically a semi-detailed description of your project (as much detail as you know). Once you have created your
software project posting, the rest is a breeze. You simply sit back and wait for software developers to post advertisements for your project. When you receive an advertisement, it means
that a software developer is interested in completing your project! Furthermore, these advertisements will typically contain links to their webpage or to a portfolio of their previous work,
which allows you to research software developers thoroughly. And that’s all there is to it! When you have decided on the right software developer for your project, you need only click the
"Send Contact Info" button located beside the developer’s advertisement (note: you can send your contact information to multiple software developers). This will send the name,
e-mail address, and phone number that you used during the signup process to the selected software developer. Alternatively, if you do not feel comfortable giving this information to the
software developer, you can contact the software developer (or software development company) yourself. Most of the time, they will provide their contact information in their advertisement.
They will be ready and waiting to take your call!
Q: Do I need to have a software buyer account in order to create project postings?
A: Yes, you do need to register for a software buyer account in order to create project postings. But creating a buyer account is absolutely FREE and takes only a few moments.
Q: How much do software buyers have to pay?
A: Perhaps the best part about our service is that it will not cost you a cent! Here at My Software Project we are committed to helping you find the right software developer for your
project, free of charge!
Q: Why is My Software Project a great way to find software developers for your project?
A:If you’re looking for software developers to tackle your software project, then you need not look any further than My Software Project. My Software Project is a great way to find software developers for the following reasons:
Q: How do I create a software project posting?
A: If you have already created a software buyer account, then you are already ready to begin creating software project postings. To create a new software project posting for you software
project, simply log in to our website and click the "Create Project" link under the "My Options" tab. You can alternatively click on the "New Project" link from you account page.
Q: What happens when I create a software project posting?
A: When you create a software project posting, it joins the long list of software projects created by yourself and other software buyers. This list of software projects is viewable by clicking on
the "Find Projects" tab. You do not have to be logged in to view this list of projects, but you do have to be logged in to view advertisements that are associated with your project.
Q: Who can view my software project posting?
A: The information contained in your project description is made publicly available. Thus, if you cannot describe your project in full detail without divulging sensitive information, we encourage
you to discuss as much as you can and then inform developers that you are unable to go into further details.
Q: Why can’t I see advertisements associated with other software project postings?
A: The reason we do not allow buyers to see advertisements associated with projects that are not theirs is because this policy discourages the creation of new project postings (if a software buyer
could see advertisements on the project postings of other buyers, they might simply contact software developers without first creating their own software project posting). Creating your own project posting is free
and can be done in no time at all. It also gives you the added benefit of being able to contact developers who are interested in your particular project (and not someone else’s).
Q: How many software project postings am I allowed to create?
A: You are allowed to create an unlimited number of software project postings.
Q: How do I view the advertisements that are associated with my software project posting?
A: In order to view advertisements for your software project posting, you must go to your software project’s page. Every software project has its own project page. You can navigate to this page by
going to your account page and clicking on the title of your software project (it should appear on the right panel under "My Project Postings"). From your project page you can see all of the details of your project
as well as all of the advertisements that were placed for your project.
Q: How do I edit the details of my software project posting?
A: Navigate to your software project’s page (available from your account page). Once you are there, simply click on the "Edit Button".
Q: What is the "Status" of my project and should I change it?
A: The status of your project is what lets software developers know whether or not you are still looking for a software developer for your project. If your project is in status "Open", software developers
are able to place advertisements on your project page. If your project is in status "Closed", software developers will not be able to post advertisements on your project page, and your project page will be
dropped from the list of open projects. As such, you should close your software project when you feel that you have seen enough advertisements to allow you to decide on a software developer for your project. Projects
are automatically closed if either: (a) there have been no advertisements placed for that project in the past month, or (b) the project due date has passed. Projects can be manually
re-opened by their owner at any time.
Q: My software project is no longer at the top of the list on the "Find Projects" page. Is there any way to get my project back to the top of the list?
A: No. Every software project starts at the top of the list when it is first posted, and then gradually moves down the list as it gets older. This is done in order to ensure that newer projects without any
advertisements for them get more attention than a project that already has many advertisements for it. Note: Editing your project posting will not bring it to the top of the list.
Q: What is the best way to select a developer for my project?
A: The best way to select a software developer for your project is by doing your homework. Many developers will include a link to their website or to a portfolio of their previous work, so taking a look these
sorts of things is a good first step in determining the most suitable developer for your project. Once you have narrowed the field down to several developers, it is best to contact the developer (see next question)
in order to obtain cost estimations for your project. After you have thoroughly researched all of your options, you will be in a good position to select a developer for your project. You do not need to inform
My Software Project about which software developer you have selected.
Q: How do I contact software developers that are interested in my project?
A: There are two ways to contact software developers. One way of contacting them is using the contact information provided in their advertisement (most software developers put their phone number and e-mail
address directly in their advertisement, or link to a page containing this information). On the other hand, if you prefer for the software developer to contact you to discuss the project, simply click the "Send Contact Info" button directly above the
developer's advertisement. This will send the salutation (Mr.,Ms.,Mrs.,etc...), first name, last name, e-mail address, and phone number that you entered during the signup process to the selected developer. It will
not send any of your other information.
